Intraocular lenses have to be surgically implanted in the eyes. To help patients decide whether the physical and financial effort is worth it, DEZIMAL GmbH developed RALV—Real Artificial Lens Vision—with 1stQ’s Rüdiger Dworschak as consulting mentor. When patients look through the RALV lenses, they can see for themselves how their vision improves, and do not have to rely solely on the assessment of their treating physician.

We spoke with the two initiators and drivers of our four lighthouse projects in person.

To develop innovative solutions that have never been seen before, in addition to a guiding vision and your employees’ expertise, you need trust – trust in the process and trust in the people.

Breaking new ground conceptually and technologically is not possible without accepting detours and dead ends. But with a healthy culture of failing forward and appreciative collaboration, essential experience for the next successful projects will be gained from projects that have not fully met their high expectations. Sina Mostafawy has a north star in software development: usability. Technology must be easy and intuitive for humans to use, for everyone from kindergarten children to pensioners.
