The catastrophic flooding in the Ahr river valley in July of 2021 also did extreme damage in the village of Insul, where the popular children's playground was completely destroyed. Mareike Keuler, a resident and the owner of a country inn in Insul, has initiated a compelling fund-raising campaign to rebuild it.
